Well, hey there!

Lauren Emmons is author-illustrator currently based in North Dakota with an MA in Children's Book Illustration. Their first illustrated picture book, Prak Fills The House, was published by Peachtree Publishing in 2023; and their debut author illustrated book, No Cats In The Library, was published by Paula Wiseman Books/Simon & Schuster in 2024. In the 2020 World Illustration Awards they were named the New Talent Winner of the site specific category, as well as being shortlisted for the children’s publishing category.

Being a digital artist, they love playing with light, color, and texture. Their illustrations are primarily created using a technique inspired by screen printing, with additional textures added. They enjoy anything with a touch of magic and adventure, and their illustrations have a strong emphasis on character and composition.

When not illustrating you can find Lauren snuggled up with their two cats to read, out on a walk with their dog, or doing some crafts while listening to a d&d podcast.
